BOWEN LYAM LEE

Welcome to my Words!

When I was 10 years old I wanted to be a writer, a teacher, and a scientist. I figured I could be all three without pushing any one occupation out of the way. Chemistry 101 stopped me from becoming a scientist, but it didn’t stop me from being a naturalist and environmentalist. I was a credentialed teacher for most of my life, and primarily a science teacher. And I have always written. So I guess I have become all three of what I wanted to be when I grew up, in some form or another.

This website is primarily dedicated to the writer, Bowen Lyam Lee. I do a lot of things, and my other websites are about those preoccupations as a creator and storyteller. But this is the writer’s website. It includes a blog with stories for climate change and stories paired with cooking recipes. Go, Asian foodie author!

Welcome to my words.

Serialized Novel

I am serializing these novels about my Chinese American family history after the way some books were first published two hundred years ago. The history of my family is secret and untold. I am writing the stories of what I can piece together of their lives and I am hoping the stories honor my ancestors, their contributions, their hard work and perseverance, their place in United States history.

When you subscribe to this serial novel you will get an email with an excerpt of the latest installment. You’ll have access to previous chapters on the website, www.bowenleebooks.com , for a one time subscription price. Sign up to get unlimited access to all the book installments.

ABOUT BOWEN

I'm looking good for an old lady. I didn't expect to be like this when I got to this age, but, hey! It's okay by me. If I have anything tarnishing me, there's always a fix. Take, for example, the oil spots on the street in the photo there. They just get covered up when a car parks on them. Hopefully a car won't park on me, but there are other ways to keep one looking good. Writing a blog is one of them. Yes, the spots are there, but it's all part of a natural evolution of events, that crafted words can reveal as, hey! still looking good after all these years.
